The Department of Pediatrics shall provide high quality health services (preventive, promotive and curative) to the most needy in the region, in accordance with the philosophy of the Department of Health, the Philippine Pediatric Society and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
As a Center of Wellness, it shall undertake preventive and promotive programs through the Child Survival Center and community service such as:
• Growth assessment monitoring and Promotion
• Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI)
• Expanded Program on Immunization
• Integrated Maternal and Child Health Services
-Pre-natal Services & Intrapartum Clinic
-Program for Young Parents
-Lactation Management Education
-Essential Intrapartum Newborn Care/Program for Small Babies
It shall also provide through its Residency Training Program an environment that fosters excellence in the aspects of Training and Research through its General Pediatric and Subspecialty Sections as well as its Child Survival Center and OPD Specialty Clinics.
